According to ISO 9000:2005, section 3.1.3, grade is the category or rank given to different quality requirements (3.1.2) for products (3.4.2), processes (3.4.1), or systems (3.2.1) having the same functional use.

EXAMPLE – Class of airline ticket and category of hotel in a hotel guide

When establishing a quality requirement, the grade is generally specified.
